EUROPEAN FEDERATION OF HOMEOPATHIC PATIENTS’ ASSOCIATIONS
The voice of the homeopathic Patient in Europe
INTRODUCTION
EFHPA was formed in October 2003 in response to the EU Commission’s desire to deal with only one organisation on behalf of patients. To this end the European Patients’ Forum (EPF) was formed. EFHPA is a of member the EPF.
Prior to becoming EFHPA, the group developed and met regularly as the Patient/Users sub-committee of the European Committee for Homeopathy (ECH) and remains affiliated to them.
FUNCTION & MISSION
EFHPA’s role is to represent patients in Europe using or seeking homeopathic treatment, defending their rights and interests. The following aims are stated within the Statutes:
- EFHPA represents patients in Europe using or seeking homeopathic treatment
- EFHPA wants to see homeopathy fully integrated into EU healthcare policy
- EFHPA is working to raise awareness of the benefits of homeopathy with the EU healthcare authorities
- EFHPA believes that patients have a fundamental right to patient-centred healthcare that respects their needs, preferences and values
- EFHPA is lobbying for harmonisation of the EU Directives pertinent to homeopathic medicines throughout Europe leading to equal availability of the treatments and medicines
- EFHPA supports the founding and development of national patients’ organisations in support of homeopathy
ORGANISATION
EFHPA was founded in October 2003 by a decision taken at a meeting of the members of the ECH Patient/Users sub-committee in Marseille. The EFHPA was registered according to Belgian law and has its formal office at; Chaussee de Bruxelles 132, Box 1, 1190 Brussels, Belgium.

MEMBERSHIP FEE
Members pay an annual fee of €200. Small associations can apply to pay less.
